Cisco Certification has become an international authority in the field of the Internet, representing important professional recognition. This is in part due to the emergence of these certifications, which provide a practical way to prove an individual's skills and knowledge in a field. As a hot career direction in the future, network engineer has attracted the attention of many young people. But many others are confused, a little confused and confused about the future of Cisco certified network engineers.Don't worry, follow my steps, let's carefully analyze the Cisco certification of various paths and certification reasons!
Cisco Certification is launched by Cisco, a well-known vendor in the networking field. Cisco Career Certification Program, or CCCP, for network planning and network support for its products,And requires its agents in various countries to have such engineers, in order to improve the quality of service to users, the establishment of Cisco product network engineer qualification system. There are three general paths to Cisco certification for engineers.
CCNA--Cisco Certified Network Associate
The first step in Cisco's network certification program starts at the engineer level. This will serve as a beginner or entry level for web authentication. The Cisco Certified Network Support Engineer Certification indicates that you have the network knowledge and skills to provide services to small and medium-sized businesses. As a CCNA certified professional engineer will be able to install, debug and design enterprise local area networks (LAN), telecom carrier Wide Area networks (WAN),Small and medium-sized networks such as security and wireless (typically 100 computer nodes) can simultaneously operate network protocols such as IP, Serial, STP, Frame Relay, RIP V2, VLAN, EIGRP, OSPF, Access List, SDM, IPV6, and IPSEC VPN.The main exam of CCNA will cover Cisco Network Equipment Interconnection (ICND).The CCNA test code is 200-301 (V1.0). The test is in English and lasts 120 minutes. A score of 825 out of 1,000 is required to pass the exam. Note that CCNA certificates are valid for 3 years, and you are required to take Recertification exams within 3 years.CCNA recertification only needs to meet one of the following three requirements: 1. Pass CCNA exams in any direction. 2. Pass any CCNP exam. 3. Passed the CCIE LAB exam.
CCNP--Cisco Certified Senior Network Professional
Cisco Certified Network Senior Engineer CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates that a certified person has a wealth of practical networking knowledge.CCNP-certified professionals can install, configure, design, troubleshoot and optimize network traffic for enterprise and carrier networks. The prerequisite to take part in the CCNP exam is a high school certificate or an equivalent. There are two types of exams in total you need to take, include core exam and concerntration exam. The CCNP written test (core test) subjects are the same as the CCIE written test subjects. After you have successfully passed the written exam, you may choose to take the CCNP elective exam directly to become a CCNP or take the LAB to become a CCIE.CCNP certification is also valid for three years. For recertification, you must pass any of the equivalent examinations or an existing CCIE written examination before the certification expires in order to renew your certification for three years.
CCIE- Cisco Certified Internet Expert
The highest level a networker can attain, indicating that someone is an expert or master in the field of networking.Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert is recognized as the top CCIE certification in the global Internetworking field. This certification provides engineers with the expertise they need to navigate Cisco equipment in today's rapidly changing networking environment. In addition to the recognition of the entire industry, CCIE is also an indicator that you continue to hold the latest online knowledge; You will become the most competitive person in your field of expertise. For many web professionals, earning a CCIE is a highlight of their career.CCIE has technical expertise and knowledge of Cisco networking products and solutions in one of the CCIE Technology tracks, which currently include collaboration, data centers, routing and switching, security, service providers and wireless.

You probably know this already, but if you are here, you have earned your CCNA certification and are ready to move on to the Cisco training path. Recent changes have removed the requirement that you first have CCNA. This was more for those who have let their CCNA qualifications lapse than those new to the certification path and who want to jump straight to CCNP. It is highly recommended that you get your CCNA certification before you attempt CCNP.
It all depends on your career plan. Multiple certifications can be tagged "CCNP" at the CCNP level. This certification includes CCNP – Enterprise, which covers enterprise networking solutions. However, there are also things like CCNP – Security which is more security-focused. Cisco doesn't expect you to "collect all" like other exam providers. Each CCNP certification is a long and challenging road. While it is possible to complete them all, it is not easy.
CCNP Enterprise is a continuation of the CCNA. This exam covers core networking principles, advanced routing, and switching in one examination. This exam is about expanding your knowledge of routing technologies to make them more useful. The CCNP Enterprise exam is more generalized than the CCNP Data Center, which focuses on a specific job or vocation. The CCNP Enterprise exam is for you if you want to further your network career but want to be unrestricted to a single job title.
Another thing to note is that CCNP Enterprise consists of a core exam (350-401ENCOR) covering advanced networking aspects. Then you will need to choose one optional exam from the following:
300-441 - ENARSI Implementing Cisco Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services
300-415 – ENSDWI Implementing Cisco SDWAN Solutions
300-420 – ENSLD Designing Cisco Enterprise Networks
300-425 ENWLSD Designing Cisco Enterprise Wireless Networks
300-430 ENWLSI Implementing Cisco Enterprise Wireless Networks
300-435 – ENAUTO Automation for Cisco Enterprise Solutions
It can be challenging to study because you will need to locate resources for specific exams that are not very popular. The above will take you to the official Cisco study materials. This is useful for optional exams. Some exams, such as the automation exam, don't offer resources. It's up to you to review official documentation from Cisco and learn what you need. It is common to take the Core exam at 250-401 ENCOR and then go on to the 300-410 ENARSI, which is more of an advanced networking exam. Other exams, such as wireless exams, are more specialized and usually have few people sitting.
The exam cost will be $700. This includes the core exam at $400 and optional exams at $300. You can pass the core and optional exams, but the full certification cannot be added to your CV. The certification costs $700. Although it is expensive, it is worth it if you can add rockets to your career.
Candidates who pass the Cisco exam can work as CCNAs in entry level network positions such as engineers and help desk representatives, network technicians, and network administrators. The Cisco certification is the best choice for those who are just getting started in IT.

Take heart if you are trying to manage your network and spending hours making sure all devices are correctly set, reading through countless logs to uncover the underlying cause of difficulties, and asking why you don't have better tools.
You place a high value on your network. After all, it is the network that defines the consequences of your company endeavors in significant part. Whether you're looking to improve your company processes or your consumer experiences, you're going to need to rely on your network. The network must expand, perform, maintain security, and most importantly, be agile to react to the inevitable, and sometimes rapid, changes that occur when your projects adjust to constantly evolving ground realities.
Networks are becoming more complicated to satisfy the increasing demands of users, devices, objects, apps, and the cloud, and enterprises are having difficulty managing them to fulfill their business needs. They frequently employ numerous tools, perform manual CLI setups, and troubleshoot by attempting to recreate the situation and reading over logs. This takes too long, is prone to errors, and consumes network engineers' time with low-value tasks.
This is the first in a series of posts about various facets of intent-based networking.
The Ascension of the Intent-Based Network
As a result of these problems, enterprise networks are transitioning to an intent-based networking model. In contrast to traditional networks, where many day-to-day activities are manual, intent-based networks (IBN) automate the network's essential functionality. They take high-level business intent as input, transform it into network policies, configure network devices to carry out the policies and monitor these devices to ensure that the policies are followed. Because of this set of capabilities, IBN is suited for reaping the benefits you foresee from your digital transformation activities.
The network controller is at the center of an intent-based networking deployment. Network controllers exemplify network management's growth from simple element managers to more powerful network managers and SDN controllers. While the development of SDN controllers increased software control, automation, and programmability, it was limited in scope and manufactured to order. On the other hand, full network controllers go beyond SDN controllers and contribute to the realization of the whole concept of intent-based networking.
At the center of intent-based networks are network controllers.
Network controllers perform the necessary policy, activation, assurance, security, and integration services critical to implementing an intent-based network.
Policy: Controllers accept as input business intent and translate it into network policies. For example, the controller may understand the intention to hold a multiparty telepresence conference at 10 a.m. to implement appropriate bandwidth, QoS, and encryption procedures in the wired and wireless campus and WAN networks.
Activation: Controllers activate the underlying network infrastructure, which is made up of switches, routers, and wireless equipment, by producing the necessary configurations and provisioning the devices following the stated policy. The controller, in our case, would arrange network devices to provide the given service levels.
Assurance: Controllers examine network data to identify any problems preventing the network from behaving following policies. For example, the controller may identify a loss of video quality in a network segment, determine the root reason, and give the user the necessary remedy.
Security: Controllers have complete insight into the network's users, devices, things, and applications. This enables them to spot odd behavior or anomalies that may indicate a threat. Controllers might take precautionary measures to protect the workplace, workloads, and personnel.
Controller APIs allow for programmatic two-way interaction between the network and external business and IT applications. These APIs also enable controllers to communicate with one another to synchronize the fulfillment of shared business intentions across numerous networks. An external program, for example, may direct the controller to configure devices for an important meeting.
Controller-led architectures are becoming indispensable due to their range of capabilities. Organizations are discovering that they can significantly reduce manual effort, minimize security risks, save operating costs, boost regulatory compliance, and ensure that the network is continually changing, learning, and aligning with business demands. When choosing a WAN design, one of the most common questions network security architects and CISOs have is, "Should I go with SD-WAN or MPLS?" Yes, it is correct. The decision to transition to SD-WAN has far-reaching implications for businesses.
Software-defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) can be less expensive, more secure, and outperform Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) (MPLS). MPLS can be costly in terms of bandwidth, whereas SD-WAN protects your network against hazards that MPLS cannot. SD-WAN, in a nutshell, improves visibility, availability, performance, and flexibility. As a result, the industry has seen a surge in interest in SD-WAN during the last few years.
Adaptability is another reason fueling the surge in interest. MPLS connections are often rigid, fixed connections that cannot quickly adapt to the type of interconnectivity demanded by today's dynamic networks. Furthermore, they do not support application recognition or advanced bandwidth control for latency-sensitive applications.
SD-WAN is important in the Cisco exam, if you want to know more about SD-WAN knowledge, please try SPOTO Cisco exam dumps to learn the latest technology!
So far, everything is going well. While Fortinet realizes that there are many considerations to consider when choosing an SD-WAN solution, SD-WAN must have integrated security. HOWEVER, most SD-WAN systems do not provide the same level of security as MPLS, which is essentially a secured tunnel going via a Service Provider's secured private network. Both security and network operations must be handled through a single integrated management platform to provide a more effective strategy MPLS.
But, before we get too far ahead of ourselves, examine whether your company should make the transition from MPLS to SD-WAN in the first place.
The Key Differences Between SD-WAN and MPLS
There are some fundamental differences between SD-WAN and MPLS. To summarize, MPLS is a dedicated circuit, but SD-WAN is a virtual overlay separate from physical lines. This provides MPLS with a minor advantage in packet loss avoidance but at a higher cost per megabit transported. SD-virtualized WAN's overlay, on the other hand, allows you to use connection types such as LTE, MPLS, and internet, providing additional flexibility.
If, on the other hand, you're looking for networking technology to benefit your business, you may need more knowledge. To assist you grasp the differences between SD-WAN and MPLS, we'll look at three crucial areas: cost, security, and performance. Some of these advantages are less obvious than others, and there may even be some disadvantages in some specific instances, which will be examined more. Let's get this celebration going.
SD-WAN vs. MPLS Cost Comparison
Previously, many businesses depended on individual MPLS connections to connect remote branches and retail sites to the central data center using a hub-and-spoke WAN topology. As a result, all data, workflows, and transactions, including access to cloud-based services or the internet, were sent back to the data center for processing and redistribution. When compared to an SD-WAN system, this is highly inefficient.
SD-WAN reduces costs by providing optimized, multi-point connectivity through distributed, private data traffic exchange and control points to provide your users with secure, local access to the services they need – whether from the network or the cloud – while also securing direct access to cloud and internet resources.
Secure SD-WAN outperforms MPLS in terms of security.
MPLS looks to offer a security advantage since it provides secure and monitored connectivity between branch offices and data centers via the service provider's internal backbone. By default, public internet connections do not offer the same level of protection.
This comparison, however, is deceptive. MPLS does not undertake any analysis of the data that it sends. This is still the responsibility of the MPLS client. Even when using an MPLS connection, traffic must be inspected for malware or other exploits, necessitating installing a network firewall and any other security services at either end of the connection.
Many SD-WAN options have the same issue. Apart from highly rudimentary security capabilities, most SD-WAN solutions still require security as an overlay solution. And for businesses that try to add protection as an afterthought to their complex SD-WAN connections, the challenge is often more significant than they bargained for.
Fortinet's Secure SD-WAN solution is distinguished by the fact that connectivity is deployed as an integrated function within an NGFW appliance, so every connection includes dynamic meshed VPN capabilities to secure data in transit, as well as deep inspection of that traffic using a diverse set of security tools – including IPS, firewall, WAF, web filtering, anti-virus, and anti-malware – that.
In terms of performance, SD-WAN outperforms MPLS.
In terms of performance, MPLS provides a continuous, constant level of bandwidth. While this may appear to be a plus, today's traffic has highly demanding performance requirements. As a result, organizations must lease an MPLS connection for their worst-case traffic load scenario, which means that expensive bandwidth is frequently unused. At other times—due to the ever-increasing volume of data generated by modern networks and devices—the MPLS connection may be constraining network connectivity.
Of fact, certain MPLS connections provide a sliding scale of connectivity. Still, even this is limited due to its inability to understand the nature of the traffic it manages and make dynamic adjustments accordingly.
To complicate matters further, while all traffic necessitates bandwidth, some applications, such as audio and video, have latency requirements that must be constantly monitored. When many applications run via the same connection tunnel, latency-sensitive traffic must be prioritized, which requires application recognition, traffic shaping, load balancing, and priority among unique connections, all of which MPLS lacks.
SD-WAN recognizes apps and may tailor bandwidth and other services to their specific requirements. It can start multiple parallel connections and then provide granular load balancing between them, as well as failover to a new connection if available bandwidth drops, as well as rate-limitless sensitive applications to ensure that latency-sensitive applications get all the room and horsepower they need – which is why the industry's most potent n powers Fortinet's Secure SD-WAN.
When MPLS may outperform SD-WAN alone
However, there are a few situations in which MPLS may be a better option than SD-WAN alone. MPLS, for example, provides a clean and secure connection that is especially desirable for certain types of data, applications, and transactions—particularly where a high level of integrity and privacy is required. However, because MPLS is an option for each SD-WAN solution, this is not a binary choice. Important transactions can still be completed via MPLS.
Furthermore, in some regions, particularly in the United States, MPLS might be prohibitively expensive. In some circumstances, replacing a public internet connection with MPLS might be relatively inexpensive. Even when MPLS is much less costly or when security or reliability considerations outweigh cost differences, SD-WAN can be built over an MPLS connection to give higher protection and functionality than an MPLS system alone. This is due to SD-increased WAN's flexibility, granular traffic control, integrated security, and the ability to use several connection strategies—MPLS, public internet, IPSec, SSL, and so on—all from the same SD-WAN deployment.
In almost every scenario, secure SD-WAN outperforms MPLS.
Fortinet's experience has shown that the benefits of an SD-WAN solution outweigh the benefits of MPLS alone. This is because today's traffic, which includes modern web applications and complicated workflows, necessitates a more flexible and dynamic connectivity environment than static MPLS connections can give.
Traditional SD-WAN systems, on the other hand, fall short when it comes to security. A Secure SD-WAN solution, on the other hand, not only adds a layer of management and flexible connectivity options for remote offices that MPLS does not, but it also adds deep and profoundly integrated security that reduces management overhead and extends visibility and control from the central IT management console or SOC solution out to the distributed WAN's very edges.
Only you know enough about your firm to determine whether SD-WAN or MPLS is better suited to your requirements. For additional information on Cisco SD-WAN features, you can check on the SPOTO blog. "It is because my laptop has dynamically acquired the IP address that I can not access this network?" In your daily life, have you faced this problem? Did you suspect that the IP address was genuine? Whether the DHCP server is licensed? Otherwise, how can this be prevented? The phrase DHCP Snooping is used to help consumers avoid unlawful IP addresses in this post. In this article
What is snooping with DHCP?
DHCP Snooping is a layer 2 security solution integrated into a powerful network switch operating system that decreases DHCP traffic. DHCP Snooping prohibits unauthorized DHCP (rogue) servers that provide DHCP clients with IP addresses. The functionality DHCP Snooping performs the following:
Validates untrusted DHCP messages and filters out invalid messages.
Creates and maintains a bound DHCP Snooping database containing information about untrusted hosts with rented IP addresses.
Use the binding database of DHCP Snooping to validate subsequent requests from unreliable hosts.
Why is DHCP Snooping required?
To avoid a middle assault from a guy on our network, we require DHCP Snooping. An assailant might pretend (spoof) that it is the DHCP server and answer DHCPDISCOVER's messages before the actual server having time to respond. DHCP Snooping enables network switches to trust the port with which a DHCP server (this can be trunk) is connected, and other ports can not be confided. It also maintains a list of DHCP address bindings by inspecting communication between clients and the DHCP server to ensure authentic hosts. Other security technologies such as IPSG and DAI utilize the binding information gathered by DHCP Snooping.

How does DHCP snoop?
To find out how DHCP Snooping functions, we need to find the DHCP working mechanism, which stands for the protocol for the dynamic host setup. With DHCP enabled, four steps "interact" with a network device without an IP address with a DHCP server.
DHCP Snooping usually classifies interfaces in two groups on the switch, which are trustworthy and untrustworthy ports. A trustworthy port is a port or source that has confidence in DHCP server communications. A port that does not trust is a port that does not charge DHCP server communications. The DHCP Snooping message can only be transmitted via the trusted port when the DHCP Snooping is started. It's going to be dropped otherwise.
A DHCP binding table is set up according to the DHCP ACK message during the recognition stage. It describes the host MAC address, leased IP address, lease time, binding type, and host-related VLAN number and interface data as illustrated in Figure 3. If it does not match the information acquired from the succeeding DHCP package received from unreliable hosts, it is dropped. Lease of MAC IP Address (sec) Type VLAN Interface
Entry 1 (e2-42) 10.32.96.19 (2673 dhcp) probing 10 Eth (1/22) Entry 1 (2)
DHCP Snooping Prevented Common Attacks
Attack of DHCP Spoofing
DHCP spoofing happens when an attacker tries to answer DHCP requests and lists himself (spoof) as the standard gateway or DNS server. This allows them to intercept user communications before transferring to the genuine gateway or do DoS via flooding the actual DHCP server with IP address resources shocking requests.
Attack of DHCP Hunger
The DHCP hunger attack is usually directed to DHCP network servers to flood an authorized DHCP server utilizing faked MAC addresses with DHCP REQUEST. In the absence of knowing it is a hunger attack, the DHCP server will reply to all requests with IP addresses, which results in a DHCP pool depletion.
How to activate spying with DHCP?
Only for wired users is DHCP Snooping applicable. A switch having access ports in DHCP-serviced VLAN is often enabled as a security feature for the access layer. You need to set up the reliable port(s) when deploying DHCPSnooping before you enable DHCPSnooping on the VLAN you want to protect. When using the DHCP Snooping system you want. This can be done on both the CLI and the Web GUI interfaces. The CLI commands are presented in the FS S3900 Series Switches DHCP Snooping Configuration.
Although DHCP simplifies IP addresses, it also poses security issues. DHCP snooping can prevent the faulty DHCP addresses of the rogue server and stop the resource-exhausting attack by using all existing DHCP addresses to address these problems. Managed switches from the FS S3900 Series may fully play this function to protect your network. To protect your network. Now that you understand the DHCP snooping overview, you may visit SPOTO for further information if you want to know more about CCNP security. This is the second of a six-part series on Cisco's ENCOR certification exam 350-401, which leads to the CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Enterprise Wireless, and Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Core certifications.
The first section of Cisco's ENCOR Enterprise certification exam 350-401 was covered last time. We'll look at the next central topic area covered on the CCNP Enterprise blueprint, Virtualization, in this article. Given how ordinary Virtualization has become, it is unquestionably deserving of a seat on a professional networking certification test. Virtual networking devices will undoubtedly come up at some time throughout your networking career, most likely sooner rather than later. However, Virtualization is more than just hypervisors and virtual machines, albeit they are essential components.
The Virtualization section accounts for 10% of the total exam weight. Let's have a peek, shall we?
2.1 Describe the various types of device virtualization technologies.
2.1.a Types 1 and 2 hypervisors
Virtual machine (2.1.b)
Virtual Switching (2.1.c)
2.2 Set up and test virtualization solutions for data paths.
2.2.b Tunneling using GRE and IPsec
2.3 Explain the concepts of network virtualization.
2.3.a LISP LISP LISP LISP LISP LISP LISP LISP LISP LI
2.3.b VXLAN VXLAN VXLAN VXLAN VXLAN VXLAN VXLAN
Don't be intimidated by this subject, and don't be fooled by it. There are complicated concepts in this section, so let's go through them one by one.
The platform that operates all of the virtual machines is known as a hypervisor. I like to compare myself to a traffic cop. It regulates which virtual machines have access to which physical resources and directs the available resources. Type 1 hypervisors and Type 2 hypervisors are the two types of hypervisors. You may have used one or both of these without realizing it. Because it resides closest to the hardware, a Type 1 hypervisor is sometimes known as a bare-metal hypervisor. VMware's ESXi and Microsoft's Hyper-V are two examples of Type 1 hypervisors.
A Type 2 hypervisor, on the other hand, is a program that runs on a computer's operating system. VMware Workstation or Fusion on the Mac, Oracle's Virtualbox, and others are examples. Type 2 hypervisors communicate with the host operating system to negotiate and share physical resources between the host and the guest operating system or VM (virtual machine).
A virtual machine is a representation of a real computer. It starts up, runs an operating system, and has access to memory, CPU, network cards, and other resources allocated to it, exactly like a physical machine. Virtual Switching works in the same way that physical Switching does.
Network virtualization has been around for a long time. VRF, or virtual routing and forwarding, generates a virtual router instance on the router, an entirely different routing table. This lets a large company or ISP network have overlapping IP ranges in other portions of the network, limiting which networks can communicate with one another, ensuring that the overlapping does not cause a dispute.
Tunneling using GRE
Virtual networks are created across the internet using GRE tunnels and GRE tunnels wrapped with IPSec. While a packet may transit the public internet and have its TTL decremented, a packet traversing the tunnel only perceives it as a single hop any number of times.
LISP and VxLAN, on the other hand, are relatively new subjects. However, their significance is growing, and their use is becoming more prevalent and ubiquitous. The Locator/ID Separation Protocol, or LISP, separates subnets/prefixes from physical locations. As a result, an IP Address can be found anywhere on a network. While LISP is powerful in and of itself, it is also one of the underlying technologies in Cisco's SD-Access architecture, which is a topic in and of itself on the new CCNP blueprint, but more on that later.
VxLAN (Virtual Extensible Local Area Network) is the same way. In a nutshell, VxLAN encapsulates the whole L2 Frame while extending Layer 2 across Layer 3 boundaries. Extending data center subnets across different data centers, for example, allows services to existing in numerous physical places. This makes failover and the high availability of services more accessible. VxLAN, like LISP, is utilized in Cisco's SD-Access architecture. VxLAN is also included in Cisco's ACI Data Center SDN solution. VxLAN works effectively as part of these solutions, but it also works well on its own.
This article should have helped you understand what Virtualization implies in the CCNP Enterprise Core exam. The ENCOR Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network, Core Technologies class cover all of these subjects. We'll look at the "meat and potatoes" of the ENCOR exam's Infrastructure subject in the upcoming post.

This is the first of a six-part series on Cisco's ENCOR certification exam 350-401, which leads to the CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Enterprise Wireless, and Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Core certifications.
The new Cisco ENCOR exam 350-401, or Enterprise Core Networking, is a monster for the CCNP/CCIE Enterprise! In this over the 100-question exam, there are six key topic areas. You'll have 120 minutes to get through all of the questions.
Architecture is the first section, and it accounts for 15% of the entire exam. The following are some of the topics covered in the Architecture field:
1.1 Describe the various design principles that are employed in a corporate network.
1.1.a Tier 2, Tier 3, and Fabric Capacity Planning are examples of enterprise network design.
1.1.b Techniques for ensuring high availability, such as redundancy, FHRP, and SSO
1.2 Examine WLAN deployment design principles.
1.2.a Models for wireless deployment (centralized, distributed, controller-less, controller-based, cloud, remote branch)
1.2.b In a WLAN design, location services
1.3 Understand the differences between on-premises and cloud infrastructure implementations.
1.4 Describe the Cisco SD-WAN solution's functioning principles.
1.4.a Control and data plane aspects of SD-WAN
1.4.b Wide-area network (WAN) and software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN) solutions
1.5 Describe the Cisco SD-Access solution's working principles.
1.5.a SD-Access control and data planes elements
1.5.b Interoperating with SD-Access on a traditional campus
1.6 Explain the concepts of wired and wireless quality of service.
1.6.a Components of Quality of Service
1.6.b Quality of Service (QoS) policy
1.7 Distinguish between hardware and software-based switching mechanisms.
1.7.a CEF and Process
1.7.b TCAM and MAC address table
1.7.c FIB vs. RIB
So, what exactly does all of this imply? I'm here to assist you in deciphering the plan so you may concentrate on your studies.
Some design elements are included in the ENCOR test. The 3-tier classical network design, which contains the core, distribution, and access layers, and the 2-tier design, often known as the collapsed core, are included. The core and distribution layers are compacted into a single layer in the collapsed core. On the ENCOR, you don't have to worry about spines or leaves. Because this is a standard data center design, it is only covered on the Data Center Core test.
If you're coming from the old 200-125 test days, you'll remember the FHRP, or First Hop Redundancy Protocol, a portion of the CCNP Enterprise. These protocols are in place to safeguard a LAN's default gateway in general. All of the big ones, including Cisco's GLBP and HSRP, as well as the more open VRRP, are on the table.
Wireless is the subject of the next exam segment. Many diverse components of wireless technology, such as frequency assignments, channels, different antennas, and their accompanying radiation patterns, should be familiarized here. You'll also need to know about common sources of 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless signal interference.
With the cloud playing such a large role in today's business, it's critical for CCNP/CCIE certification candidates to comprehend its significance, as well as the benefits and cons of cloud infrastructure. While the cloud can quickly scale, it is often a one-size-fits-all solution. On-premises may be preferable for more specialized workloads. On-premises connectivity to the environment can provide lower latency.
The next component, SD-WAN, or software-defined wide-area networking, has to be one of my personal favorites. You must have a thorough understanding of Cisco's SD-WAN product from Viptela to pass the ENCOR exam. The ENCOR test does not include Cisco Meraki, even though it is an SD-WAN Cisco solution. You should be aware of the many components of the Cisco SD-WAN system and its critical responsibilities.
With all of the collaborative technologies in use today, QoS, or Quality of Service, is more critical than ever in many workplace networks. It is possible to have a fantastic meeting experience by ensuring that latency-sensitive traffic, such as Cisco Webex and IP Telephone, is prioritized on the network. You will be successful here if you understand QoS themes and technologies available at both the L2 and L3 levels.
The Architecture section of the ENCOR test demands you to know about CEF, or Cisco Express Forwarding, the MAC Address Table, TCAM, and its applications, as well as the relationship and distinctions between the RIB and the FIB. Prepare for the ENCOR Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies class by familiarizing yourself with all the subjects covered.
Hopefully, this Architecture explanation and breakdown for the CCNP/CCIE Enterprise Networking Core test will assist you in being more prepared! The previous Routing and Switching track have been renamed Enterprise Infrastructure. In this essay, I'll go over everything you need to know to get started, prepare for, and pass the Cisco Enterprise Infrastructure Core Technologies or ENCOR 350-401 test. If you already understand what this exam is all about, you may go ahead and obtain my 80-hour ENCOR learning plan by filling out the form below.
The ENCOR 350-401 exam, Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Infrastructure Core Technologies, is one of many new tests announced by Cisco in June 2019 as part of their most comprehensive career certification program upgrade since creation (back in 1993!). Cisco announced fresher examinations, but they also revised recertification requirements and released the brand new Cisco DevNet certification. On February 24, 2020, all exam and regulation amendments went into force.
The Cisco Enterprise Core Technologies or ENCOR 350-401 test is both a CCIE and a CCNP level exam; you must pass this exam if you intend to sit for the Cisco Enterprise Lab or prepare for your CCNP Enterprise Infrastructure certification. It is one of two tests required for the CCNP; the other exam might be one of the five Enterprise Infrastructure focus exams. Last but not least, with the revised program style, there is no CCNA R&S or Enterprise Infrastructure test; instead, the Enterprise specializations begin at the CCNP level.
Exams that are no longer in use
The Cisco ENCOR 350-401 exam (with the 300 series concentration) replaces the previous CCNP Enterprise exams listed below.
CCNP R&S Exams from the Past
CCIE R&S Exams from the Past
The Cisco ENCOR 350-401 exam is designed to replace the following CCIE R&S exams. Consider the ENCOR to be the new R&S "written test."
• Written 400-101 Routing and Switching Exam
ENCOR Exam Objectives or Topics
The Cisco ENCOR 350-401 test topics are divided into five sections. According to my official ENCOR test blueprint research, 60% of the exam topics within the official ENCOR exam blueprint are theoretical. In comparison, the remaining 40% need some level of hands-on participation.
4. Network Security
Let us now go over each exam section as specified in the official Cisco ENCOR exam blueprint.
The enterprise network design principles for wired and wireless LANs, SD-WAN, SD-Access, QoS, and hardware and software switching techniques are covered in this section. This section's information is entirely theoretical.
This section contains information on network and data path virtualization technologies. Approximately 66 percent of the content in this section is theoretical, with the remaining 33 percent requiring hands-on experience.
This section covers network fundamentals such as layer two and layer three technologies, wireless, and IP services. About half of the content in this area is theoretical, while the other half is practical.
This section covers network troubleshooting, device monitoring, NetFlow, SPAN, IP SLA, DNA Center, and the RESTCONF/NETCONF protocols. This section's content is entirely hands-on.
This section covers device access control, infrastructure security, REST API security, wireless security, and network security design techniques such as 802.1X and TrustSec. Approximately 40% of the content in this area is theoretical, while 60% is hands-on.
This part covers Python 101, JSON data encoding formats, data modeling languages, DNA Center APIs, EEM, and configuration management tools. Approximately 30% of the content in this area is theoretical, while 70% is hands-on.
When comparing the ENCOR test to the now-obsolete R&S written exam, you will see that it does not map smoothly section to section because Cisco has transferred the majority of the original "R&S" topics, such as L2/L3 technologies, onto the ENARSI 300-410 exam.
Exams for the CCNP Enterprise Concentration
To obtain CCNP Enterprise Infrastructure certification in the updated test format, you must pass ENCOR and one of the six Enterprise concentration exams listed below. All concentration exams are numbered in the 300 series. Therefore the ENAUTO exam is 300-535.
2. ENSDWI (England, Scotland, and Wales) (SD-WAN)
Examining ENCOR and Analyzing Job Tasks (JTA)
JTA is concerned with the exam's alignment with the fundamental role that you must execute as an Enterprise network engineer. So, what are the essential functions that are available in the Enterprise Infrastructure space today?
Design Engineer / Architect
Engineer in Operations
Engineer, Network Automation
Except for NOC/Ops, we can easily observe that the ENCOR exam perfectly maps all Enterprise expert jobs based on those four roles. It is evident that it barely scratches the surface of each of those positions, and mastery necessitates passing some of the Enterprise Infrastructure focus examinations.
Fees for the ENCOR and Concentration Exams
Each ENCOR exam attempt costs $400, as do all 350 series exams. Similarly, the charge for each try at the concentration examinations is $300, as it is for all 300 (and 200) series exams.
Costs or fees for CCNP and CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure Certification and Recertification
Given that you must pass ENCOR and one 300 series concentration test, the CCNP Enterprise Infrastructure certification will set you back $700. It rises up for CCIE because you must pass both the ENCOR theory (or written) exam as well as the Enterprise Infrastructure Lab or hands-on exam. Thus it's $400 + $1600 or $2000 total.
Things become more fascinating when it comes to recertification because you have many possibilities. You have four alternatives for recertifying your CCNP Enterprise Infrastructure.
1. Retake the ENCOR test ($400).
2. Pass any two separate focus exams ($600).
3. complete any CCIE Lab exam ($1600).
4. Make use of Cisco Learning Credits greater than 80.
You have four possibilities for recertification for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure.
1. Pass the ENCOR test and 1x Concentration exam ($700).
2. Pass any three (3) concentration exams ($900).
3. complete any CCIE Lab exam ($1600).
4. Make use of Cisco Learning Credits greater than 120.
It is worth mentioning that all certification cycles in the redesigned Cisco certification program style run three years.
Exam Preparation for the ENCOR
It is a challenging exam, and your background is fundamental.
So, suppose you have CCNA R&S experience. In that case, you will only discover the essential concepts relevant to you, such as routing protocols—my analysis suggests that those topics account for only 38% of the exam topics! However, if you have a CCNP R&S or a CCIE R&S background, you may recognize up to 33% and 68% of the exam subjects, respectively.
To get started, get 100% authentic Cisco CCNP ENCOR 350-401 test dumps with real 350-401 exam questions and answers to help you pass the 350-401 exam on the first try!

Note: This page has been updated to include the February 24, 2020, CCNP Security revisions, as well as the CCNA CyberOps, now known as the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification, which has undergone a name and curriculum change. On May 28, 2020, Cisco retired the 210-250 SECFND and 210-255 SECOPS exams, replaced by a single exam, the 200-201 CBROPS.
Many consider the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate to be an excellent place to start for cybersecurity professionals. For example, it covers enough key principles like cryptography and a Security Operations Center (SOC) basics. One of the best aspects of this certification is that it has no prerequisites.
Why should you consider obtaining the Cisco CCNP Security certification? At first sight, it doesn't appear to be a fair comparison to the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate. CCNP credentials are more sophisticated for starters, and candidates generally have to meet stringent requirements before taking the CCNP test. However, this is about to change. I'll get to that later.
Let's look at both of these certificates in more detail and explore why you would choose one over the other.
Pros and Cons of Becoming a Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate
The Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate is a good choice for someone who wants to get into cybersecurity. It goes over the basics of Cisco hardware and software, but not in great depth. The Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate program also teaches you about security operations and is an excellent method to get a junior analyst position in a security operations center.
Because the CyberOps path has no prerequisites, you can skip straight to the 210-250 SECFND Security Fundamentals exam, which focuses on security technologies like host-based intrusion prevention systems, monitoring, and other hands-on technologies.
The 210-255 SECOPS test, which focuses on computer forensics, teaches students how to correlate data with suspicious activity and identify symptoms of an attack. It also covers incident response and handling capabilities and prepares applicants for employment based on cybersecurity principles.
The revised, streamlined 200-201 CBROPS exam would be available on May 29, 2020. The 200-201 CBROPS certification combines two 90-minute exams into a single 120-minute exam that focuses more on security concepts and analysis. Even though the new exam does not include explicit exam objectives for networking fundamentals, expect any Cisco exam to demand a solid understanding of those concepts. This is especially true when it comes to network security certifications.
It's important to note that the CyberOps Associate certification is a one-time requirement. This means that you can only go so far with that particular security track. If you want to use the certification as a springboard for further study, it may be a dead end.
In the end, this certification will help you grasp the mindset required for a cybersecurity position. If you're just getting started, it's a great option.
Pros and Cons of the Cisco CCNP Security Certification
Cisco is changing its certification scheme in February if you haven't heard yet. We've got all the information you need right here. Because of the reorganized CCNP Security certification, you can now take the CCNP Security (350-701 SCOR) test without any prior qualification, which is enormous.
Getting into CCNP territory used to take a long time because you had to pass multiple tiers of CCNA tests to get there. You can choose a specialist certification when you pass that exam. This allows you to concentrate on a specific area of security that will help you advance your career.
Decide where you want to go.
It's one thing to know about certifications, but what do they bring you? The outcome of getting certified should be work that you enjoy and find difficult at the very least. As persons attempting to get into the cybersecurity field, we must consider the benefits of one certification over another.
Exam difficulty should not be a decisive factor when deciding which certification path to pursue, but it is one. When comparing the CCNP Security and Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certificates, it's essential to know who each is intended for. The Associate-level Cisco Certified and CCNP titles on the examinations are geared at two quite distinct experience levels, as you would have guessed.
Either of these certificates makes sense if you're starting in cybersecurity as a junior analyst. There is no prerequisite exam for either of these exam tracks, so that you might start with one of them for your first Cisco certification. If you're like me and recently received your CompTIA Sec+ certification, you might want to consider working in a SOC where log monitoring and analysis are a large part of the job. This is a fantastic place to start.
The Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate can teach you the core knowledge and abilities you'll need to succeed in such a setting. It also goes into greater detail in areas like incident response than Security+. However, after you've passed both CyberOps examinations (or one after May 2020), you've completed the certification process.
If you have more experience and wish to focus on a more specialized cybersecurity function, the CCNP Security certification may be a better fit. There are several explanations for this. There are no prerequisites, unlike the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate. You can study for the core exam to demonstrate your understanding of essential topics and technologies, then pivot into a specialty that will help you advance or get a better job.
Finally, you wouldn't have to limit yourself to just one specialist exam. You may quickly alter your mind and take a different path if you need to go in another direction or master new abilities.
Everyone is unique, especially when it comes to career goals. Starting with the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate may be advantageous for those with many IT administration expertise. However, based on your knowledge and practical knowledge in such contexts, the roles you will land will be entry-level to mid-range security responsibilities.
If you already work in a security operations center or a monitoring setting, CCNP Security may be a better fit for you. It teaches a wide range of abilities and provides plenty of opportunities for advancement.
When you combine job experience with the location you want to visit, the decision becomes a lot easier. If you're looking for your first job in cybersecurity, the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate can help you get there. Suppose you want to take things to the next level and further your career. In that case, the CCNP Security will get you there, with the added benefit of career path alternatives that the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate can't provide at this time.
