How do I renew my PMP certification?

Once you would have passed out the PMP exam, you would require keeping your skills up-to-date through the CCR (Continuing Certification Requirements) program for maintaining your PMP credential and active certification status. Each PMP certification cycle would last for three years, during which you would be required to earn 60 PDUs (Professional Development Units) for renewing your certification at the end of the cycle. Once you would have completed a single period, another new three-year cycle would instigate.
If you don’t earn the specified amount of PDUs by the end of the third anniversary of your PMP certification, there would be a suspension of a year of your credential, after which it would no longer be valid. Before we discuss the CCR Cycle in detail, you must know that being certified with PMP isn’t an easy task, unless you have experts, like you could get at the SPOTO Club, to help you out on your journey.

Determining Your Certification / CCR Cycle:
Your first certification or CCR cycle would begin on the day you would have cleared the exam. Your beginning certification or CCR cycle ends on the third anniversary day of passing the exam. You would require renewing your PMP credential one day before the third anniversary of clearing the exam. Your next CCR cycle would also be instigating on the third anniversary of making the exam.
Changes in PDU:
The PMI CCR Program would be designed to help the individual in a project manager’s growth and development in their profession. With the evolution of the business environment, the PMI would have decided that the program would also be required adaptation for providing the development of new employer-desired needs, which would be including business intelligence and leadership.
Earning the Required PDUs:
There are going to be two types of PDUs you would be able to make:
• Education
• Giving Back
Along with these two groups, there would be subcategories, which would be described below:
• Education PDUs
Aligned with the PMI Talent Triangle, this category would require 60% of the PDUs, with a maximum of 35 PDUs:
• Technical Project Management: You could earn a minimum of 8 PDUs.
• Leadership: You could make a minimum of 8 PDUs.
• Strategic and Business Management: You could win a minimum of 8 PDUs.
Remaining PDUs could be earned under any of the three sections mentioned below:
• Giving Back PDUs
The total number of PDUs which could be made in this category would have been reduced; however, the activities under these categories would be remaining the same:
• Volunteering
• Creating Knowledge
• Working as a Professional
The number of PDUs which could be earned in Working as a Professional category would have been reduced.
You could earn a maximum of 25 PDUs in this category:
• Working as a Professional: You could receive a maximum of 8 PDUs under this category.
• Volunteering and Creating Knowledge: You could receive the remaining PDUs under this category.
With this change, PMPs would be still able to claim PDUs for all the activities claimable in the past:
