    I. One of the most time-tested rules for network design is this: Switch wherever you can, route wherever you must. In essence, networks should be deployed by utilizing switching technology wherever it is possible, interconnected by routers only wherever it is required. Of course, the definition of “required” could vary a great deal as well as change over time as different network fads come in and out of the fashion. A good start would be to break up networks into different zones, separating user access networks, whether they are staff or guest, from data centers. These separations are considered to be logical points for routers and, in some cases, firewalls. Even though many users would spread through a building might look similar to many servers in a data center, the networks would have very different performance as well as reliability requirements. By creating a clear separation, network managers would be able to focus on designing networks that are fit for purpose rather than over-engineering or under-engineering. Before we discuss about the Distribution and Aggregation Layer, let me make you one thing very clear, that there are lots of things needed to be considered in networking, which you cannot just read and acquire, you are needed to go through immense training, which you could obtain through the training module offered by the SPOTO. II. Aggregation layer vs Distribution layer distribution layer In small networks of a few hundred users, edge switches could be connected redundantly directly to the core switch or router devices. However, for larger networks, an additional layer of switching, which would be called the distribution layer, aggregates the edge switches. The main goal of the distribution layer is simply to cable the reduction and network management, taking the many uplinks from edge switches as well as aggregating them into higher speed links. If edge switches are being chosen so that each wiring closet has only a single redundant uplink, then the distribution layer is generally to be placed next to the network core, with a minimum of two devices connecting to each wiring closet However, if the edge switch topology creates multiple redundant uplinks As for illustration, if non-stacked switches are selected or if there are an enormous number of connections in each wiring closet, then an aggregation layer which is really just another distribution layer can be placed in each wiring closet.  aggregation layer The aggregation layer connects to the uplinks of the edge switches and is uplinked to the distribution layer toward the network core. In small networks, uplink speeds of about 1Gbps might even become satisfactory, depending on the total number of user devices which would be served by each wiring closet and the application demands on the network. Wiring closet uplink speeds of greater than 10Gbps would be required only in very unexpected cases. Aggregation as well as distribution layer switches which are generally selected over edge switches for their greater reliability as well as the larger feature set. While the aggregation or distribution layer should always be redundant, devices at this layer would be offered nonstop service, like in-service upgrades and hot-swap fan as well as power supply modules. Aggregation and distribution layer switches which would also have more stringent performance requirements, which would be including lower latency and larger MAC address table sizes. This is considered because they might be aggregating traffic from thousands of users rather than the hundreds that one might find in a single wiring closet.  These are some details about the Aggregation Layer n Networking, but if you wish to have more knowledge regarding the same, you could do it by gaining the training courses that are offered by the SPOTO. That is considered quite an interesting question because the CCNA Certifications aren't an easy exam to clear and usually will be deemed the first certification that people go after. Either way, it wouldn't be able to bring up a good question, or that would be that whether the Cisco Certification is considered to be enough to gain a job in IT. Let's have a look. So, would you be able to gain a job with only the Cisco CCNA certification? Many employers would be hiring someone with only the Cisco CCNA certification for a lower-level or entry-level IT or cybersecurity job. However, the chances of being hired will increase significantly if you could combine your CCNA with a second skill, like the technical experience, another certification, or a soft gift such as customer service. Let's dive in a little deeper for taking a look at what our chances would be to find a job with just a Cisco CCNA certification, and what else we could add to our resume for increasing our chances of success in the job search. Before we discuss Cisco Certifications' Job opportunities, you should acquire the SPOTO Cisco Exam Dumps to achieve success in the first attempt. Jobs You Can Gain With the Cisco Certification: The Cisco CCNA, which is also known as the Cisco Certified Network Associate, is considered to be a certification which would be designed by Cisco as an advanced entry-level or what they would be able to call associate-level designation that would be indicating an understanding of layer two and layer three switching and routing concepts, and about how they would be applying to Cisco equipment. The Cisco CCNA would have been around for over 20 years and has remained immensely popular throughout that time. How much salary will be offered for CCNA? Cisco would have also developed other CCNA certifications, which would have been including CCNA Wireless, CCNA CyberOps, and CCNA Security. These certifications are considered to be similar associate-level credentials in the Cisco lineup. However, when anyone would say CCNA, they are almost always referring to the CCNA Routing and Switching, which would be mentioned above, because it would be the first and remains the most popular one. The CCNA would be intended for leading to any number of entry-level to mid-level networking based career options. These would be including the positions like network technician, network analyst, network engineer, network administrator, or possibly even network security analyst. These positions would be given different names at different companies, so bear in mind that not all network engineers would do the same thing. A network administrator at one company might be doing the same thing as a network technician at another. CCNA Scope in the USA – 2020 | Salary, Job Roles & Career after CCNA Regardless, the Cisco CCNA would be designed for verifying you would be prepared for networking based positions that would be responsible for wiring networks, installing as well as configuring routers and switches, and performing basic troubleshooting. The bigger promise of Software Defined Networking otherwise known as SDN is that it would be centralizing and simplifying control of enterprise network management. But what would be the specific advantages of Software Defined Networking? Different vendors would be creating different claims, but the most commonly cited benefits of Software Defined Networking are considered to be traffic programmability, greater agility, the ability to create policy-driven network supervision, as well as implementing network automation. The promise of SDN is considered to be the ability to allow networks to keep pace with the speed of change. So, before we discuss the benefits of the Software Defined Networking, it is recommended for you to gain detailed knowledge about it. I would suggest you join the courses which are offered by the SPOTO Club. One of the primary advantages of Software Defined Networking would be that it is going to create a framework to support more data-intensive applications such as big data and virtualization. Benefits of Software Defined Networking: Centralized network provisioning. Software defined networks provide a centralized view of the entire network, which would make it easier to centralize enterprise management as well as provisioning. For instance, more VLANs are becoming part of physical LANs, which would be creating a Gordian knot of links and dependencies. Holistic enterprise management. Enterprise networks have to set up new applications as well as virtual machines on insisted to contain new processing requests like those for big data. SDN would be allowing the IT managers to experiment with network configuration without creating impact on the network. SDN would be also supporting the management of both virtual and physical switches and network devices from a central controller; something you couldn’t do with SNMP. SDN would be providing a single set of APIs to create a single management console for virtual and physical devices. More granular security. One of the advantages of security defined networking would be that it appeals most to IT managers is centralized security. Virtualization has made network management very challenging. With virtual machines coming and going as part of physical systems, it would be quite difficult to consistently apply firewall and content filtering policies. When you would be adding in complexities like securing BYOD devices, the security problem would be compounded. Lower operating costs. Administrative efficiency, better control of virtualization, improvements in server utilization, and other benefits should result in operational savings. Although it would be still early for showing real proof of savings, SDN should lower overall operating costs which eventually result in administrative savings since many of the routine network administration issues could be automated and centralized. Hardware savings as well as reduced capital expenditures. Adopting SDN would also be giving new life to existing network devices. SDN would be making it quite easier to optimize commoditized hardware. Hardware which would be existing could be re-functioned using instructions from the SDN controller as well as less expensive hardware could be deployed to greater effect since new devices essentially become white box switches with all the cleverness which would be centered at the SDN controller. Cloud abstraction. Cloud computing is here to stay as well as it would be evolving into a unified infrastructure. By abstracting cloud resources utilizing Software Defined Networking, it would be quite easier to unify cloud resources. The networking components that would be making up massive data center platforms could all be managed from the SDN controller. Guaranteed content delivery. The ability to control and shape data traffic is considered to be one of the primary advantages of Software Defined Networking. Being able to automate and direct data traffic which would make it quite easier to implement quality of services (QoS) for voice over IP as well as multimedia transmissions. Streaming high-quality video would be quite easier because SDN is going to improves network responsiveness to ensure flawless user experience. To get more knowledge, gain the prep courses, which would be offered by the SPOTO Club.

You may hear of SDN before, but do you know the detailed features of SDN? This blog will take you to deep dive into the world of SDN, which is required in the Cisco technology. Why Software-defined networking (SDN)? Enterprises, Organizations, as well as service providers, would be surrounded by several competing forces. If you want to find a problem that would be coping with unpredictable traffic patterns, large data centers would be demanded. These traffic patterns would be causing a very high demand for particular resources. That they wouldn’t be meeting with existing network infrastructure. So there are going to be two choices: Scaling network infrastructure for meeting the peaks, which would be very expensive and complex. Or you could be building a network in such a way that it could be reconfigured automatically to cope up with those peaks as well as the channel for meeting appropriate demands. That’s where SDN would be coming into existence. If you want to learn more about the SDN, follow SPOTO and contact us to get the latest technology information! What is SDN? Software-defined networking, shortly known as the SDN, is considered to be a unique approach or an umbrella term for cloud computing as well as networking. It would simplify the management of the network and enable the programmatically efficient configuration of a network to improve the performance of networks and monitoring results. Software-defined networking would be emphasized on the fact that the basic architecture of the traditional network is considered to be so much complex as well as decentralized while the present network would be requiring more flexible architecture with a simple troubleshoot option. Software-defined networking would be recommending centralization of network intelligence by withdrawing the forwarding process of network packets, data packets, from the routing process, control process. Check out the training courses of SPOTO Club to gain more knowledge regarding the same. Software-defined networking (SDN) Architecture Software-defined networking architecture layers would be consisting of 3 layers. The Application Layer The Control Layer The Infrastructure Layer The Application Layer The application layer would be containing programs that programmatically and explicitly would be communicating their desired network behavior as well as network requirements to the SDN Controller. The Control Layer The SDN Controller is considered to be the mid-layer that would be connecting the application layer and the infrastructure layer. The northbound interface is considered to be the connection between the controller and applications. In contrast, the southbound interface would be considered as the connection between the controller and the infrastructure layer. This layer would be processing the instructions as well as requirements sent by the application layer, through the southbound interface and proceed them to the networking components, through a northbound interface. It would also be communicated backing necessary information which would be extracted from the networking devices to the application for it function optimally. The Infrastructure Layer This consists of networking devices that would be controlling the forwarding as well as data processing capabilities for the network. The devices would be responsible for handling packets, which would be based on the rules which would be provided by a controller. It is the physical layer responsible for collecting the network statuses like the traffic statistics, network usage, network topology, etc. and send them to the control layer. The SDN Architecture would have the following features: Directly Programmable Network control could be directly programmable as it would be decoupled from forwarding functions. Centrally Managed In Software-based SDN controllers, network intelligence is centralized, maintaining an overall view of the network. Agile Abstracting control from forwarding letting admin allows managing network-wide traffic flow dynamically for meeting the changing requirements. Programmatically Configured In SDN, network managers would be able to manage, secure, configure, as well as optimize resources of the network quickly and easily. Vendor-Neutral SDN Implementation instructions would be provided by SDN controllers instead of vendors as well as protocols. So it is considered to be Vendor neutral. Hence, Software-defined networking technology is believed to be ideal for customers who would be having faced rapid changes in their day to day network load. For more details regarding the SDN, you should opt for the training courses offered at the SPOTO Club.

Hot Standby Routing Protocol otherwise known as HSRP is considered to be a Cisco proprietary protocol that would be allowing two or more routers so as to work together for representing a single IP address for a particular network. HSRP, as well as VRRP (Virtual Route Redundancy Protocol),  are considered high-availability network services that would be allowing for almost immediate failover to a secondary interface when the primary interface would become unavailable. HSRP is considered to be a fairly simple concept that would have worked by having one router within an HSRP group which would be selected as the primary or active router. That primary would be handling all routing requests while the other routers within the HSRP group that would be simply waiting in a standby state. These standby routers would be remaining ready to take on the entire traffic load if the primary router would become unavailable. In this scenario, HSRP would be providing high network availability since it routes IP traffic without having to be dependent on a single router.  The hosts that would be using the HSRP address considering it as a gateway that would never know the actual physical IP or MAC address of the routers in the group. Only the virtual IP address which was created within the configuration of the HSRP along with a virtual MAC address which would be known to other hosts on the network. Basic HSRP Configuration For this scenario, you have to use a topology that would be consisting of just two routers. Keep in mind that one or both of these routers would be multilayer switches like a 6509 or 3750 as well. But just for this discussion let us just refer them as routers.  Controlling the Active HSRP Router  There are more HSRP values that you are going to need to change from time to time so as to ensure the complete control over your network traffic. As for example, what if we would be wishing R1 to be the Active router instead of R2?  To force a particular router so as to be the active router in an HSRP group you are going to need to use the priority command. The default priority is supposed to be about 100.  The higher priority would be determined which router is going to be active.  If both routers would be set up to the same priority, the first router to come up would be considered as the active router. Keeping the Active Router Active In the scenario which is mentioned above, if R1 fails, R2 would be becoming active.  This is perfect!  But, if R1 comes back up and returns to service, R2 would be continued to stay active.  This might not be a preferred behavior.  There are times when you might be always wanted R1 to be in an active state in the HSRP group.  Cisco would provide a way to getting used to controlling this by utilizing the Preempt command.  Preempt would be forcing a router in order to be active after recovering from a failure.  Advanced HSRP Configuration – Load Balancing  So now you would be able to see how great HSRP is and how it would be allowing us to have high availability between multiple routers for a single network.  But the standby routers wouldn’t be doing anything and are just sitting there!   It is going to be depending on the model router that you would be utilizing, this could be a lot of money just sitting idle. In order to solve this problem, we could configure HSRP so as to be load balanced between routers.  This isn’t going to help us with a single HSRP group, but for multiple HSRP groups, we could just spread the load and have each HSRP group to remain active on different routers. By configuring several HSRP groups on a single interface, load balancing of HSRP could be achieved.  If you wish to learn more about configuring the HSRP on Router, all you need to do is to join the courses, offered by the SPOTO and learn it all through their expertise training modules.
